Cumbrnauld’s Daniel scores for Lanarkshire

A WELL-TAKEN goal by Abronhill High School pupil Daniel McDonald was not enough to help Lanarkshire to take the honours in the Lloyds TSB Scotland under 18 national trophy.

The Lanarkshire side missed out in dramatic fashion after seeing a two goal lead slip before losing out to Glasgow on penalties at Motherwell’s Fir Park Stadium.

Daniel scored his side’s third goal and Lanarkshire led 3-1 with only seven minutes remaining on the clock, but Glasgow snatched two late goals to force the tie into penalties.
