The Bishopbriggs side’s Central First Division match at Lesmahagow was the latest to fall victim to a waterlogged pitch, the third week in a row they have had their scheduled game cancelled.

‘Vale haven’t played a match since losing at home to Renfrew in new boss Brian McGinty’s first game on March 26.

They now face a hectic fixture backlog with four games in eight days, starting with a visit to holders Thorniewood United tonight (Wednesday) for a Central League Cup first round tie, a game postponed on April 2.

On Saturday - weather permitting - Rossvale face a crunch match away to promotion rivals Wishaw, followed by games at Johnstone Burgh next Monday and St Roch’s next Wednesday.

Rossvale have now dropped to fourth in the table, 10 points behind Renfrew and six adrift of Wishaw but with four and three games in hand respectively.

Third-placed St Roch’s are a point ahead of Rossvale but have played five games more than their Glasgow rivals.
