Having made the long trek north to Mosset Park, Colts got off to the worst possible start as Forres went 1-0 up after 19 seconds.

A scuffed clearance by Daniel MacFarlane allowed Forres midfielder Datchi Khutsishvili to tee up Craig McGovern to net from the edge of the box.

This didn’t hurt Colts’ spirit though as a few minutes later Stephen O’Neil’s delivery was met by Andy Selkirk who was extremely unfortunate to see his effort rebound off the bar with the keeper beaten.

But the hosts settled into the half more comfortably however and created another chance which brought out the best in Colts keeper Chris Fahey whose fingertips sent the ball round the post for a corner.

Forres had the ball in the net again shortly afterwards but were denied a two-goal lead by the offside flag.

With seconds to go before half-time they managed to ‘score’ again but a foul on Colts defender Andy Ward meant a second disallowed goal.

With five minutes of the second half gone the offside flag again kept the scoreline at 1-0 as another ‘goal’ was chopped off.

With the clock ticking down and Colts battling hard to level the scores the home support were backing their team to get another goal.

And they were not to be denied at the fourth time of asking as Stuart Soane fired home. And it was 3-0 five minutes later as Lee Fraser headed over Fahey in goal to extend their lead.

Colts made a couple of changes in a bid to get something from the game, bringing on Johnny Black and Sean Brown, and Black had a good chance to score but lacked the composure to finish past Knight in the Forres goal.

With the game now past 90 minutes Forres extended their lead to four as Kyle Scott rounded off the scoring from a corner.
