“Immeasurable” loss of Forth Wanderers stalwart Dougie McKendrick

There was much sadness this week over the death of Forth Wanderers football stalwart Dougie McKendrick, a ‘well kent’ face at Kingshill Park for over 40 years.

A Forth spokesman said: “Dougie was familiar to many visitors as the gateman, who always had time for a friendly word with all and sundry.

“Dougie would do anything to help his beloved Wanderers, running the lottery, prize draws, linesman – you name it Dougie probably did it at some point over the decades.

“His loss to the club will be immeasurable and we offer our deepest and most sincere condolences to wife Lynn and sons Colin and Douglas and family.

“His smile, friendship, support and unwavering dedication to Wanderers will never be forgotten at Kingshill.”
