West London Sport reports that the 24-year-old custodian, who joined the London outfit in June 2019 after two successful years at Livingston, is expected to move to Fir Park until the end of the season.

The news is likely to be greeted warmly by Motherwell fans cursing the fact that number one keeper Trevor Carson is again out injured after going off in the 2-0 home defeat to Kilmarnock last Wednesday night.

Aaron Chapman played between the sticks for the Steelmen in Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Hamilton Accies.

Kelly made 19 Championship appearances in the 2019-20 season in what was his first outing in English football, sharing the number one spot with Joe Lumley after a contested season.

His football career started as a youth at Rangers and he had loan spells at East Fife and Livingston before signing for Livi permanently.

Meanwhile, Motherwell announced today that another goalkeeper, Jordan Archer, has left to join Middlesbrough having played four games for the Steelmen since joining on a short-term deal in October.
