However it was a better night for Rossvale who got back to winning ways with a 4-0 demolition of Johnstone Burgh.

Despite their sixth penalty miss out of seven this season, Stewart Maxwell’s Rob Roy side looked set for their first league win since the beginning of March when they led 2-1 going into stoppage time.

But the visitors struck to deny injury-hit Rabs a morale boosting victory.

Before the match manager Maxwell said he felt his side were just one win away from achieving their survival target and Reece Pearson put them on course with the opening goal.

Shettleston equalised from the penalty spot before the break but Willie Sawyers restored Rabs’ lead four minutes into the second half.

But yet another penalty proved costly as Shettleston made the most of the let-off to snatch a point.

Looking to stop a run of four defeats without a goal being scored, ‘Vale got an early boost when Fraser Team fired them in front after 18 minutes.

Team doubled Rossvale’s advantage two minutes from the break and the visitors made the points safe when Corey Irvine put them three up on the hour.

A successful evening was rounded off 12 minutes from time when team completed his hat-trick.

Rossvale are away to St Roch’s on Wednesday and then travel to Maryhill on Saturday.
