Before the match manager Maxwell said he felt his side were just one win away from achieving their survival target and Reece Pearson put them on course with the opening goal.

Shettleston equalised from the penalty spot before the break but Willie Sawyers restored Rabs’ lead four minutes into the second half.

But yet another penalty proved costly as Shettleston made the most of the let-off to snatch a point.

Next up for Rob Roy is another home match against Arthurlie on Saturday.

Meanwhile Rossvale got their first win under new boss Brian McGinty as they got their Super League First Division promotion bid back on track away to Johnstone Burgh.

Looking to stop a run of four defeats without a goal being scored, ‘Vale got an early boost when Fraser Team fired them in front after 18 minutes.

Team doubled Rossvale’s advantage two minutes from the break and the visitors made the points safe when Corey Irvine put them three up on the hour.

A successful evening was rounded off 12 minutes from time when team completed his hat-trick.

Rossvale are away to St Roch’s on Wednesday and then travel to Maryhill on Saturday.
