Juniors take to the park

Kilsyth Rangers start their pre-season fixtures this Saturday with a visit from Falkirk Juniors.

It is expected that there will be a number of prospective new signings on show together with the nucleus of last season’s squad.

New assistant manager, Jamie McKenzie, who was manager at Forth Wanderers last season will be assisting Eric Sinclair and looking to improve on last year’s performance when Rangers narrowly escaped relegation with a win at Whittlets on the last day of the season.

Saturday’s match kicks off at 2pm.

Next Wednesday Rangers visit Armadale for another game, kick-off 7.15pm and the following Saturday Whitburn come to Duncansfield, again with a 2pm start. The final match is away to Hill of Beath on Saturday, August 3 at 2.30pm.

Cumbernauld United are also in action this weekend when they face East Region North Division winners Kirriemuir Thistle at St. Pat’s Sportsfield, Kilsyth, on Saturday.

On Saturday, July 27, they take to their home pitch at Guy’s Meadow in a friendly against East Region Central League winners Kinnoul and on Monday, July 29 they travel to face West of Scotland Super League Premier Division side Petershill.

Rangers and United face each other for the first time this season in the Euroscot Eng Sectional League Cup on Wednesday, August 14.
