But Rabs will still look at the match as two points dropped.

The first chance fell to Rabs’ Kevin Watt who volleyed over the bar before Peasies’ Chris Malone’s effort went wide.

The home side looked more likely to make the breakthrough with Lee Gallacher testing keeper Steven McNeil then Gavin Mackie and Luke Whelan having powerful drives blocked.

Chris Duff headed a Gallacher corner kick over the bar and at the other end Brown did well to cut out a McElroy cross to bring a fairly dour first half to a close.

After the break McNeil made a fantastic double save from Paul Finnigan and minutes later Whelan headed a Gallacher corner over from close range.

But Rabs took the lead in the 64th minute when Willie Sawyers flicked the ball through to Chris Duff whose low cross was diverted into his own net by defender James Brough.

But the lead lasted only four minutes as a long McNeil clearance was crossed into the Rabs box and Brown’s outstretched hands were unable to keep out Michael Daly’s header.

Five minutes from time Mackie fired a powerful volley inches past and Whelan then headed a deep Mackie cross into the side netting from an acute angle.

In the final minute Petershill were awarded a penalty when David Barr appeared to slip on the muddy pitch, bringing down Daly, but substitute Kieran Daw’s spot kick was brilliantly pushed aside by the diving Brown.
