Kilsyth’s aim is league title

KILSYTH Rangers notched another three points on the league table at the weekend with an impressive win against Ardrossan, but have a nervous wait as other teams in the league play catch-up.

The Gers also played Clydebank on Monday night in the Central League Cup quarter-final but lost 5-2, throwing the team’s attentions firmly back on league business.

The cup is now out the way for the players after their Monday night exit and assistant boss Martin Mooney has always maintained the league is the team’s main focus.

“The Clydebank game showed us what we could be up against next season if we get promoted but, we’ve got six games with no distractions and we just need to win as many points from them as possible and see what the other teams can do,” he said.

Meanwhile Cumbernauld battled back from 3-0 with 15 mins to go against Girvan to win 4-3 at the weekend.

A remarkable match saw United lose three goals against the run of play and then show the determination to come back and win.
