Law out to prove he’s his own man

The former Alfreton Town midfielder signed a one-year deal at Fir Park and hopes to emulate his brother’s success with the club.

He said: “It’s a massive opportunity for me and I can’t wait to get into pre-season training.

“The move is a massive step up for me, but I’ve been training at Motherwell on and off so they could have a look at me.

“They have shown faith in me and it gives me the confidence that I can make the step up and establish myself in the first team.

“I had good offers, from clubs in England, but I felt Motherwell was the right option for me.

“Nicky had great success here and there will be comparisons for the first few months, but obviously I want to establish myself in my own right.”

Despite Nicky’s Rangers side not being in the Scottish Premiership, Law still hopes he can battle his brother on the pitch.

He said: “It is a shame Rangers are not in the Premiership this season, but I‘m hoping that they can get promoted back to the top league.

“I’ve had a few jokes with my brother about playing them. It would be great if we could draw them in a cup, but perhaps not for my mum who would have to sit on the fence.

“I cannot wait to play in the European qualifiers and against Celtic at Celtic Park, it is a really exciting proposition and I hope I can play my part.”
