Motherwell FC ace Allan Campbell fit to face Hamilton Accies/Jordan Roberts doubtful

Campbell went off with cramp during extra time in Friday night’s Scottish Cup clash against Morton but is available for the all-Lanarkshire clash.

Motherwell assistant boss Chris Lucketti said: “He should be fine. Allan is a warrior.

“We were actually quite surprised to see him go down but it was a touch of cramp due to the extra time.

"But he’s been assessed and he was back in training on Monday. He’ll be flying and ready to go.

"That is a major boost for us because since we’ve come into the club Allan’s been tremendous.

"He’s a true professional, we need him and this team needs him playing like he does and trains every single day and that is to his maximum effort.

"If you can get enough of your squad playing and training like that, you will win many games during the course of a season.”

Lucketti also revealed that injured striker Tony Watt is a week away from a return,

while Jordan Roberts – injured in the recent game against St Mirren – could also miss the Accies match.

Lucketti said: “Jordan’s been struggling but he’s still being assessed so that’ll be a late call to see how he’s going to be and whether he can be in contention. Hopefully he will be.”

Motherwell’s rearguard has changed several times in recent weeks and, with Declan Gallagher, Bevis Mugabi and Charles Dunne recently returning to fitness, they are vying with Ricki Lamie and Tyler Magloire for starting berths in central defence.

Lucketti said: “We’re fortunate, we’ve got a lot of good defenders and there’s a lot of competition.

"It’s probably the strongest area of our team at the moment.

"We base it down to when you’ve got the shirt, hang onto it, making sure you play well when you’ve got the shirt and in training and performances as well will be included in our decision making to pick the best players that we can do.”

Motherwell have lost all three Lanarkshire derbies already this season and so are desperate to avoid losing this time.

Lucketti said: "The results have been disappointing, that’s for sure, something that we can’t change now from the past.

"All we can do is we can change the future, look forward.

“The lads are full of confidence, looking forward to the game and looking forward to producing the right performance which will get us three points.

"We’ve won four of the last five games, we know we’re in good form.”
