Motherwell ratings vs Ross County: Dull day in Dingwall as visitors suffer defeat amid treacherous weather

Motherwell were in Dingwall but defeat was had in the Premiership vs Ross County.

Motherwell suffered a 2-1 defeat to Ross County on their return to the Premiership.

The game had an whiff of doubt over whether or not it’d actually go ahead, with the Fir Park side advising fans not to travel up the A9 amid Storm Bert. Some supporters buses were cancelled as the weather prevented many supporters from ML1 from making the long journey.

With the team already nearby to Dingwall, matchday proceeded. A stuffy first half played out with Lennon Miller sailing a free-kick wide with some good deliveries into the box from both sides.

Apostolos Stamatelopoulos nodded a header wide as Ronan Hale’s attempt from range for the hosts went wide. The latter wouldn’t be denied inside the box two minutes after half-time when pouncing on a glimpse at goal, and seven minutes later, Josh Nisbet made it two.

Some attacking subs were made by Motherwell boss Stuart Kettlewell but two goals proved too hard a deficit to overturn, despite a late goal from substitute Zach Robinson. The club are fifth in the league ahead of hosting Hibs at Fir Park next week. Here is how the players rated, via WhoScored.
