Rossvale had to wait until the 36th minute to make the breakthrough, Robert O’Donnell heading a Joe Bradley corner on for Alex Cassells to net from six yards.

The lead was doubled nine minutes after the break when Cassells broke clear and coolly sidestepped ’keeper Thomson to score.

Larkhall were reduced to 10 men in 65 minutes when Kell was red carded and Rossvale took advantage to go three up when Chris McQuade’s driven low cross left Cassells with a simple finish to complete his hat-trick.

Cassells turned provider eight minutes later when he deftly played the ball into the path of Chris Gordon whose right-foot shot left Thomson helpless.

A fantastic run from midfield by Ryan Kane 12 minutes from time set up Rossvale’s fifth for Jason McKay who shot beyond the despairing reach of the Larkhall keeper.

For the next five minutes the Rossvale defence switched off and gave away two goals, McKeever netting from a low McDonald cross and Gracy beating Calder just inside the post with a left-foot shot.

But Rossvale finished with a flourish by netting three times in the last three minutes.

Ryan Kane netted the sixth with an unstoppable drive, Cassells got his fourth and Rossvale’s seventh when he got in front of the defence to touch home a McQuade cross and McQuade lobbing home the eighth with the last kick of the game.

Rossvale will be out to continue their free-scoring form this Saturday when they travel to face Thorniewood United.
