Rob Roy manager Stewart Maxwell is considering a move for former SPL striker John Stewart to bolster his attacking options.

The 29-year-old has been without a club for the past season but can boast an impressive pedigree from his time with Aberdeen, Falkirk, Ross County and Clyde.

He is perhaps best known for his first senior goal for the Dons — a match winner at Celtic Park in October 2004.

The Rabs boss said: “John has been out the game for the past year but has come in here and his attitude has been excellent.

“It’s a bit of a gamble for us but I think it’s one that will pay off once John gets up to speed.
