Aston Villa are one of the sides said to have a transfer interest in the Rangers star.

Aston Villa are said to be one of the clubs monitoring a Rangers star set to make the Premiership club major profit.

Nico Raskin shone for Belgium at the World Cup and that has peaked interest after impressing in his Light Blues stint. The midfielder has clubs around Europe looking at him and Real Betis of La Liga are one side mentioned. Premier League newcomers Hull City are also in the running but Aston Villa could also come into the equation.

The Europa League winners are eyeing reinforcements and some clubs have offers put to Rangers that are close to what they are keen to gain for Raskin. That could see a bumper deal sealed for the midfielder in the near future with the club having already signed Dan Neil and Cammy Devlin in that department.

Will Nico Raskin leave Rangers this summer?

Reporting from the Daily Record reads: “Real Betis have still to hit Rangers’ valuation amid major growing European interest in Nico Raskin. The La Liga outfit is in talks over a deal for the Belgian World Cup star with Italian, German and English clubs are also in the discussion. Rangers are looking for big-money and a figure of £20million has been banded about in recent weeks. The Spanish side are pushing to try and clinch a deal but they know the face stiff competition.

“English Premier League new boys Hull City have already failed with an eight-figure bid, while Aston Villa are watching the situation closely. Rangers are relaxed about the situation. Two Bundesliga sides are also keen to strike a deal. Some of the offers on the table are getting close to the figure Rangers want and a deal could be struck imminently. Rangers are set to make a massive profit on a player they signed from Standard Liege back in 2023. Raskin is keen to move to one of Europe’s top leagues on the back of his World Cup showings.”

McInnes, speaking during the week at the club’s Spanish training camp, said of possible incomings: "The club has done brilliant work at this moment in time to try and bring in the additions that we clearly needed. We want to make sure we are a more rounded squad when it comes to the bit that we're ready, but the work will be ongoing. We're still looking to try and get a couple of things done ahead of the St-Etienne game.

What do Rangers want from summer signings?

"We're two weeks away from Dundee United (first game of the Premiership season) and I feel that the fitness of the players is a lot better and stronger to where we want it to be, from when we set off a couple of weeks ago. I want us to be more together as a squad.

“What we have is a lot of good individuals and we saw signs of that last season - Rangers, at times, were really strong. Individually, players were at a good level, but when it came to it, we needed to be more of a team. I really want to build that work ethic, that togetherness that gets you through tough times."
