Danny Rohl refuses to question Rangers squad mentality after Scottish Cup exit

On his side’s crushing cup exit, Rohl admitted: “The result is disappointing. I think a shootout is always a little bit of luck. We were the better team for 120 minutes, 24 shots to their one. All the things you need in football.

“We played a really good game from our side, but football is about results and we didn’t get the result we deserved today. We are disappointed, but next week we go again, we have nine finals to go. We play this way again and again ten we have a big opportunity to take something this year.

“We did well as a group from last week to this week. We will do this again, it’s our job. We are strong enough to step up in the right moments and we will do.

”We can take a lot of good things from this game, except the result. I’m totally convinced we will be ready again next week and we will show a good performance and get the right result we deserve.”

Pressed on how challenging it is to manage the intensity of this fixture, Rohl sighed: “At the end of the game, there’s always emotion. It’s what makes this game so exciting.”
