Falkirk to take 'different approach' to Rangers ticketing plans for potential D-day title decider after furious backlash
The Bairns have received a flood of complaints after Rangers fans were spotted in the home sections and hospitality areas during Sunday’s Premiership clash
Falkirk have confirmed they will rethink ticketing plans for Rangers' potential D-Day title visit next month after the club received a raft of complaints in the wake of Sunday's Premiership showdown against Danny Rohl’s side.
The Bairns crashed to a 6-3 defeat to the Ibrox outfit on Sunday after blowing a two-goal lead. However, hundreds of fans were left angered amid reports of Rangers supporters gaining tickets among the home crowd.
Rangers were handed an away allocation of around 750 tickets for the clash, but a group of Rangers fans were spotted celebrating their second half comeback while seated in the home sections of both the North Stand and hospitality areas of the Main Stand.
That sparked a social media backlash, with police and stewards forced to intervene. And the board of the Falkirk Supporters Society have since announced they will be raising the matter with club officials.
In a statement, the group said: “Following yesterday's match with Rangers, we can confirm that we've received feedback from members and non-members regarding a number of incidents within the stadium during the match as well as outside the stadium post match.
“All comments have been passed on to the club, and they are reviewing the days events. We'll provide further updates as and when we're in a position to do so.”
Falkirk vow to ‘learn lessons’ from ticket fiasco
Falkirk CEO Jamie Swinney has assured supporters a different approach to ticket allocations will be taken when they host the Light Blues for a third time this season on Saturday, May 16, which could see Rohl's men involved in a final-day title decider.
Writing on X, he said: “We are aware and we will review and this will feed into the plans for the last game of the season. We will have a very different approach for the last game of the season. Lessons will be learned from [Sunday]. The safety and enjoyment of our supporters will be our priority.”
