How much Rangers and Celtic spend on transfer fees revealed + which rival spent more on players

Rangers and Celtic have spent hefty amounts on transfer fees.

The numbers of how much Rangers and Celtic have spent on transfer fees during the 2022/23 season have been crunched.

Both sides are currently vying for the Premiership title. Celtic lead the way by three points and a win for them in the fourth Old Firm of the season this weekend would all but seal another glorious day for boss Brendan Rodgers.

Philippe Clement’s men meanwhile need to win by three goals or more to come out on top spor. During the 2022/23 season, Celtic won a Treble in Ange Postecoglou’s second and final season in charge at Parkhead as Giovanni van Bronckhorst departed his Rangers manager role and Michael Beale came in.

Ridvan Yilmaz, Ben Davies and Todd Cantwell were amongst the players to come in that season at Ibrox, while Celtic signed Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers and a host of other stars. Here’s how Rangers and Celtic signing spends compare with each other and the rest of the Premiership, excluding Livingston who’s figures are not yet released.
