How to watch Aberdeen vs Rangers: TV channel, live stream, team news, referee and VAR for SPFL grudge match
Everything you need to know about how to watch Rangers’ trip to the Granite City
Rangers return to domestic action this weekend to face rivals Aberdeen in matchday three of the SPFL Premiership.
Manager Derek McInnes is in desperate need of a positive result after his side crashed out of Europe in midweek to Czech minnows Jablonec on penalties. Just seven games into his tenure, the Rangers boss is already on thin ice as he prepares to face his former club.
Things haven’t been too much better on the domestic front, as Rangers followed up an opening day draw away to Dundee United with defeat to Hibs at home. Already five points behind bitter rivals Celtic, anything less than three points this weekend would only increase the decibels of the alarm bells ringing around Ibrox. In a match which has been chosen for commercial television broadcast, here’s how you can tune into Aberdeen vs Rangers this weekend.
Where and when will Aberdeen vs Rangers take place?
The match will take place at Pittodrie Stadium in Aberdeen on Sunday, August 30. Kick-off is scheduled for 12:00pm (BST).

What is the Rangers team news ahead of the Aberdeen clash?
Winger Kim Min-su will be available for selection for the first time since his £8.5m move from Girona earlier this week. The Light Blues have also been handed a boost at the back, as central defender Ben Godfrey returned to the bench against Jablonec after picking up a hamstring injury on the opening day and will be available for selection on Sunday. Midfielder Nico Raskin didn’t travel with the squad to Czechia amid transfer speculation and in turn remains a doubt for Pittodrie.

What have Rangers said ahead of the Aberdeen clash?
McInnes is confident he and his side can bounce back from their difficult start. Ahead of Sunday’s clash, he told Sky Sports: "I'm not the first Rangers manager to get off to a tough start, but we are determined to follow this job through and it's the end that counts. I still believe we're going to be a success here, but we need to try and give a bit more encouragement to the supporters to buy into and get behind.
"European football is so important for the club, not just from a financial aspect but just from a prestige point of view, so we're all disappointed and gutted that we're not competing longer in Europe. But our full focus is on Aberdeen, the full focus will be on us this season domestically now and I do think we need to be a club that gets back to winning trophies domestically.”
