Jamie Redknapp hits Tottenham with a brutal truth bomb + tells Rangers why Spurs are 'perfect' to play against

Rangers face Tottenham in the Europa League this week.

Jamie Redknapp has told Rangers that Tottenham are the perfect team to play right now.

The Light Blues face a mouthwatering tie with Spurs and former Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou in the Europa League this Thursday. It comes amid scrutiny on the Aussie boss after a 4-3 loss to Chelsea in the Premier League extended a poor run of results.

Rangers meanwhile have picked up form domestically with 6-0 and 3-0 wins over Kilmarnock and St Mirren, while they also impressively beat Nice away from home last time out in this competition. Now ahead of the game at Ibrox, Redknapp has issued a damning Tottenham verdict as Rangers look to claim a major scalp.

He told Sky: “When you look at Tottenham... if you are having a bad run or you need something to go your way, they are the perfect team to play. Ipswich Town coming here having not won a game all season, feel like you’re going to get a chance, end up winning. Crystal Palace, haven’t won a game all season.

“Who’d you want to play? Tottenham. That is the feeling when you see them. You weren’t sitting with any conviction they were going to hang onto a 2-0 lead.”

Redknapp added: "You can't say that they ever looked comfortable. They are just too easy to play against. It could have gone either way. It was chaotic. When you play against Tottenham, because of how ill-disciplined they are with and without the ball, they give you so may chances.

"There are times of pure joy, like when they played Man City and won 4-0. You think, 'oh, this could be the turning point' but then they just disappoint you again. Right now, Tottenham need to win a trophy. That is more important than anything else right now because that is the stick they always get beaten with."
