Rangers ace told he will ‘do very well’ leaving Ibrox

Former Romania international Liță Dumitru believes Ianis Hagi will be better off pursuing a move away from Ibrox after falling out of favour under Philippe Clement. The midfielder has made just three Scottish Premiership appearances so far this season after returning from his loan spell with Alavés.

Speaking to Digisport, Dumitru said that he feels Romania has ‘few’ valuable footballers right now and that he doesn’t see ‘anyone better’ in the country than Hagi. The ex-midfielder and Romania U19 manager has addressed the Rangers man’s current situation and thinks an exit will benefit him and his career.

“I think he is a good footballer, we have to rely on him. If he left there, I think he would do very well,” Dumitru said.

Hagi signed for Rangers in 2020 for £3 million following a loan spell but as the seasons have gone by, injuries have impacted him and he has slipped down the pecking order. Hagi is under contract at Ibrox until 2026.

Celtic target hot on EPL transfer list

By now, it’s no secret that Lennon Miller is hot property at Motherwell. A number of clubs have been credited with interest in the midfielder, including Celtic who are admirers of their opposition player. Rangers have also been thrown into the mix but naturally, the Old Firm aren’t alone in their interest.

According to Geordie Boot Boys, transfer insider Graeme Bailey has named Newcastle United among other Premier League clubs who are keen on signing Miller. In fact, multiple sides in England’s top flight have been keeping tabs on the Motherwell star.

“He is a tremendous prospect. Celtic and Rangers were hoping he was still under the radar a little bit, as they thought it would be a battle between them two. But the English teams have really started to flock over the past six to eight weeks. I am told that more than half of the Premier League are looking at Lennon Miller, while Leeds United are also watching him,” Bailey said.

“Newcastle like him. They really have a good history now of picking up these 18 and 19-year-olds. Newcastle have watched him and like him. He can play anywhere in midfield. Newcastle are firmly in the mix, and it will be up to the player. He’s a good tactician and a really good player.”
