Rangers and Celtic have been mentioned in the signing unveiling at a lower league club.
Wallace Duffy was one of the players who had their contracts cancelled at Inverness CT after the League One club went into administration. He has been on the hunt for a new club since then and has signed for Strathspey Thistle. Duffy spent four years at Inverness and played in the 2023 Scottish Cup final vs Celtic.

The Strathy Jags state: “Wallace began his career at Rangers and has since gained valuable experience with clubs like Celtic, St Johnstone and Inverness Caledonian Thistle. After recently departing Inverness we’re excited to see Wallace bring his dedication and experience to our squad.”
Manager Ryan Esson told the Press and Journal: “Wallace adds real experience, he’s quick, he’s aggressive and he’s good tactically. He will add something to the squad that we didn’t previously have.
“We needed a centre-half and Wallace will add real quality and competition to the squad. Wallace can play anywhere across the back four, but I see him playing at centre-back. We’ve had players filling in there and we haven’t had a settled back four since I came in.

“I don’t just want to add bodies for the sake of it – we want to bring quality players to Strathspey and Wallace is a quality player.”
