Angery Light Blues supporters have made their feelings known on the current state of affairs on and off the park in recent weeks and their frustration was clear after another poor performance during the 2-1 Premiership win over St Mirren at Ibrox on Sunday.

Despite their being more suggestions of potential new investment, club officials have yet to make any appointments to fill their vacant chairman, CEO and director of football positions.

And fans unveiled their latest banner display directed at the Gers board - this time informing chiefs that they are ‘destroying’ the football club just a week on from producing a similar display bemoaning the ‘mismanagement’ of the team and declaring those in senior positions have ‘no clue’ how to steer the ship.

The relationship between Rangers supporters and the club’s hierarchy has become strained in recent months, with manager Philippe Clement outlining the financial predicament of the club late in the summer transfer window.

The Govan outfit already trail Celtic and Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership title race and fans have been far from impressed by how the board have allowed several key roles to be vacated without suitable replacements lined up. The pressure is also mounting on Clement to deliver positive results on the pitch.

And those combination of factors spilled over inside Ibrox on Sunday when a scathing banner from the area where the Union Bears are now housed in the Copland Road Stand read: “Your ineptitude is destroying our club. Time for fans to force change.”

In the second half, the same section held up a message relating to the club’s recent UEFA punishment over the use of pyrotechnics which said: “Worrying about thousands, while wasting millions.”

Quizzed about the discontent among the Rangers fanbase in the wake of last weekend’s 1-0 defeat to Kilmarnock, Clement stated: “It’s normal that they’re unhappy. There’s not one person on the staff or one plater who was happy after this game, after losing. So that’s normal. The players showed respect towards the fans, the fans showed what they felt about the results, and that’s normal.

“So it’s about getting back the results, that’s the main thin, and then the fans get behind you. I think the anger has to do with a lot of things. So I will be focused on the sporting side to get the best out of this squad.”

Interim chairman John Gilligan has assured fans that fresh investment is on the way, with businessman Billy Walker recently confirming that he would be willing to invest in the club to help ease their financial struggles providing he gets a consultancy role in return.
