Rangers nine goal thriller vs Falkirk had Ibrox hero ready to smash TV as eagle-eyed fans search for fresh injury clues
Former Ibrox skipper admits he was put through the ringer last Sunday and hopes no repeat is in store over the five remaining post-split games
Rangers’ thrilling 6-3 Premiership win over Falkirk last Sunday was an outstanding spectacle for the natural - but it left former Ibrox interim boss Barry Ferguson ready to SMASH up his television.
The legendary former Light Blues captain admits he was put through the ringer as Danny Rohl’s side eventually emerged with maximum points after NINE goals were shared at the Falkirk Stadium.
Rangers had to mount a stirring second half comeback after conceding twice within half an hour in a contest that will likely go down as one of the most exciting games of the season.
And despite the elation of keeping their title charge on course in dramatic fashion, it left Ferguson fearing the worst and feeling the urge to put his foot through his TV screen.
Speaking on the Five Stars VIP podcast, he stated: “I was ready to smash my TV in if I’m being honest with you. I knew it was going to be a hard game, because lets be honest John McGlynn and his Falkirk team have been excellent this year, and they thoroughly deserve to be in the top six.
“The way we started was lethargic, nothing really about us, Falkirk were just on top. They go two goals up and I’m thinking, this is it, this is the end of the charge for the league title.
“We get the gal back just before half time which I think was a massive plus, and then the second half was just like a totally different team. The energy just doubled, we were on the front foot, obviously the manager made the change with Miovski going up top with Chermiti which I though made a huge difference.
”What I just hope, with the five remaining games is they don’t put me through another forty minutes like that, because I was seriously worried.”
Fans search for injury clues as footage released from Spanish training camp
Eagle-eyed Rangers supporters are hoping to receive good news on the injury front ahead of run of five defining post-split fixtures and have been casting their eye over footage released from the club’s training camp in Marbella this week.
Danny Rohl’s side have been put through their paces in the Spanish sunshine ahead of a free weekend, with crocked trio Tuur Rommens, Ryan Naderi and Bailey Rice all spotted wearing full training gear on Friday morning.
Rohl confirmed last week that Rommens’ injury “isn’t a big one” but was still deemed serious, while Naderi is due to be sent for a follow-up scan to determine if he will return before the end of the season.
And Gers fans will be encouraged to see both players have travelled with the squad as they seek a clean bill of health from the club’s medical staff ahead of a crucial end to the campaign.
