Rangers ‘definitely’ plan to explore £8.6 million transfer as player admits he wants permanent Ibrox move

Rangers are planning to make Andreas Skov Olsen’s loan move to Ibrox permanent

Rangers ‘definitely’ plan to explore a permanent transfer for loan signing Andreas Skov Olsen at the end of the season, according to the latest reports.

The Dane signed for the Light Blues on loan until the end of the season and the club hierarchy are looking at cementing his place beyond the summer.

Skov Olsen has already earned praise and support from fans in the lead up to his arrival at Ibrox. Supporters were pleased with the news of Rangers’ interest in signing the winger and they will be eager to see what he can produce as part of Danny Rohl’s attack this season.

Rangers looking to sign Andreas Skov Olsen on permanent basis

Football Insider has reported Rangers’ intent to make Skov Olsen’s move to Ibrox permanent. His current loan deal has an £8.6 million option to buy clause in place, and the club ‘already have plans in place’ to trigger it.

With fans on board with the winger and the club willing to sign him full-time, it is now up to the player whether he wants to remain with Rangers moving forwards.

Fortunately for those eager to see him stay, Skov Olsen has already admitted he would like to stay with Rangers, and he is determined to help them challenge Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title.

Andreas Skov Olsen wants to stay at Rangers

Asked if he would be open to making his Rangers switch a permanent one in the summer, Skov Olsen replied: “Definitely! The aim here is to be the best team every year in Scotland. That's why I really wanted to come here, to be a part of that.

“There was some contact with Rangers before, some years ago. So I'm so happy I'm finally here and I can't wait to start. I would love to win trophies, but I know it's one game at the time.

“We have to focus on one game and then hopefully see where it ends at the end of the season, but we're going for it for sure. Playing a part in the title race was something that excited me. It's very tight and that's what I said. It's one game at the time.

“You cannot look too far. You have to have a look on the next game and make sure you win that.”

Skov Olsen watched on from the stands as his new teammates beat Annan in the Scottish Cup last week. However, fans will need to wait a little while longer before they see him make his Rangers debut, as he is ineligible for Thursday’s Europa League dead rubber with Ludogorets.
