Rangers predicted XI vs Falkirk as fixture congested period opens door for two changes from Aberdeen triumph
Here’s how we think Derek McInnes will set up his side in their Premiership clash with Falkirk
After earning his first league win of the season at Pittodrie against Aberdeen, Rangers boss Derek McInnes is seeking to build some positive momentum against Falkirk away on Wednesday night in the SPFL Premiership.
It’s been a difficult start for the new Rangers boss but a win in the Granite City has slightly relieved the pressure for now. A penalty from striker Lawrence Shankland was enough to seal the free points in a hard fought win at a difficult venue. Under the lights of the Falkirk Stadium, tomorrow’s clash offers an opportunity for the manager to further redeem his shaky start.
A midweek fixture means there’ll almost certainly be changes for the Light Blues, who will also face Motherwell on Saturday at Ibrox during the congested period. Their opponents go into the match off the back of a 2-1 defeat to Celtic and are still seeking their first win of the season. Here’s how we think McInnes will set up his side against the Bairns, using the 4-3-3 formation:
GK - Ivor Pandur
First league clean sheet for the new Croatian stopper will give him plenty of confidence going into this one.

RB - Dujon Sterling
The experienced utility man has started in seven out of eight games this season and appears to have gained the trust of the manager already at full back.
CB - Emmanuel Fernandez
It’s been a shaky start for last season for last season’s standout performer but he remains the first choice central defender.
CB - Olwethu Makhanya
New signing is slowly adapting to the Scottish game and has the makings of a dependable centre back.
LB - James Penrice
With Tuur Rommens still sidelined with a groin injury, the Scotsman remains the only viable option at left back.
CM - Dan Neil
Former Sunderland captain has brought leadership qualities to the middle of the park. Another who is slowly adapting.
CM - Tochi Chukwuani
Rested for Pittodrie, the Dane should be raring to go for Wednesday night. In for midfielder Cammy Devlin after he ran about daft at the weekend.
AM - Kim Min-su
An impressive debut in the number 10 role for the Korean could see him keep his place. An £8.5m signing hasn’t been added to sit on the bench.

RW - Daisuke Yokota
In for winger Findlay Curtis, the Japanese trickster was dropped for the first time at the weekend, following his move from German side Hannover 96 last month.
LW - Djeidi Gassama
Winner of the penalty against Aberdeen and was a constant threat. If the winger can keep that up every week then he’ll very rarely lose his place.
ST - Lawrence Shankland
Albeit from the spot, he’s now off the mark in the league. Rangers fans won’t care how he gets them but the goals need to start flooding in now.
