Rangers’ defeat against Aberdeen in midweek was a disappointing one - Light Blues captain James Tavernier ‘understands’ the fans frustrations and called for improvement from his teammates.
Speaking to the media, Tavernier said: “We know as a team we have performance levels we can reach as we shown in Europe, it is important we are consistent as a team and reach these levels.
“We have constant dialogue and always look to improve. We demand more of each other. It is down to us as players to deliver results. There is criticism that happens with poor results you don't want.
“It is down to us as players to deliver results. We are in it collectively as a team. It is important this weekend we get ourselves into the final, it is very important for us to retain the trophy.

“I totally understand the frustrations, we never want to drop points. As a captain, I am doing everything in my power to deliver a performance. We have to go do our talking on the pitch.”
Jimmy Thelin addresses media ahead of Celtic vs Aberdeen
Celtic will square off against Aberdeen at Hampden Park in the semi finals of the Scottish League Cup - and Dons boss Jimmy Thelin certainly isn’t taking the fixture lightly.
Speaking in a press conference, Thelin said: "First of all, we need a good performance on Saturday. It's a semi-final, we know it's a cup, if you lose you're out.

“Otherwise, it's unnecessary to play the game. So we have a strong belief that we know it's going to be a tough game. We have to go 100% in with a strong belief we can make it.
“Everybody wants to win something, but the nicest thing is to see how the players grow, how we create a strong team spirit and how we can try to build this capacity that we can give us a chance of winning.
"Sometimes you can have a really good performance but you miss with a touch or whatever, but to see and create this togetherness and the spirit that we can give us a chance to do this kind of thing is what I want.”
