Rangers striker transfer at risk of collapse as Ibrox move talks 'stalling' as 'problematic' confession resurfaces
Rangers’ talks with a new transfer target have hit a stumbling block
Rangers’ talks with transfer target Ryan Naderi have been forced to a halt after his club have ‘moved the goalposts’ over a potential move.
The Light Blues have carefully sought out the striker, who currently plays for German third tier side Hansa Rostock. However, conversations have now stalled and the winter transfer deadline is approaching.
Rangers have identified Naderi as a target to bolster Danny Rohl’s forward line for the rest of the season. They are currently second in the Scottish Premiership table, just four points behind leaders Hearts.
There is a very real possibility that Rangers can close down the Jambos but they will need to keep up their current run of form.
Rangers transfer talks stall over Ryan Naderi
It was reported on Monday that Hansa Rostock were willing to accept the £2.6 million offer for Naderi that Rangers had put on the table. The 22-year-old is also reportedly keen on the idea of moving to the Scottish Premiership.
According to new information from Germany, relayed via Record Sport, the club have slammed the brakes on the pending deal, for two reasons.
The first reason is that Rostock do not have a suitable replacement for Naderi. He has contributed eight goals and five assists in 17 league appearances so far this season, so his absence will be missed without an adequate back-up.
The second reason is the club are now looking to sell him for an increased price in the summer, providing he can keep his strong form going.
Sky Sports Germany have claimed that ‘talks are stalling’ between Rangers and Rostock.
Rangers target Ryan Naderi leaving his club would be ‘problematic’
Club manager Daniel Brinkmann was asked last month about the interest being shown in his star striker. He admitted he would not stand in the way of Naderi progressing beyond Germany’s third tier but did not hide that it will be a tough outcome for his team.
“We won't stop Ryan from improving his career. He'll get his move. I don't deny if would be very problematic for us if he left this month though. Last week, he scored the winning goal and at the weekend against Mannheim, he provided three assists.
“You don't know if someone else can replicate that. We realise that all of this is also on his mind. It's flattering for any footballer when big clubs express interest and it has an impact on you. And it doesn't help if you talk about it every day and read about it every day.
“I don't concern myself with that at all. I'm completely focused on myself because I can't influence other things. What the outcome is, whether it's goals scored or other clubs' interest, is relatively unimportant to me. I will continue to work hard, help the team and be successful with them.”
