The Light Blues competed in the league phase of the competition last season, but failed to reach the knockout rounds after finishing outside of the top 24 spots following costly defeats to SK Brann, AS Roma, Ferencvaros and FC Porto.

Rangers were seeded in the Main Path of the draw at UEFA’s headquarters in Nyon this afternoon, Of their potential opponents, Belgian outfit Anderlecht boasted the highest club coefficient ranking of 68. However, Pafos, Hajduk Split, Jagiellonia, Hammarby IF, Tromso and Hradec Kralove were also involved in proceedings.

But a tricky trip to Poland awaits the Govan giants. So what do we know about Jagiellonia Białystok?

Who are Jagiellonia Białystok?

Founded in 1920, Jagiellonia have won the Polish Ekstraklasa title just once in their history in addition to a solitary Polish Cup triumph. They are managed by Adrian Siemieniec, who became the youngest manager in Polish football history when he took charge of the club two years ago at the age of 31.

There is a Celtic link in the current Jagiellonia playing squad, with former Japanese defensive flop Yuki Kobayashi among their ranks. The centre-back has reignited his career in Poland and is now viewed as a key player by the club.

Jagiellonia play their home games at the 22,500-capacity Chorten Arena in the north east of the country. The city of Bialystok is located just over two hours from Warsaw.

They are unbeaten in their last SEVEN away European ties, which included an impressive 4-2 victory over Serie A side Fiorentina last season. However, they have never travelled to Scotland for a competitive match.
