This week Rabs face a Petershill side who are in form after three wins on the trot and who knocked Rob Roy out of the Sectional League Cup semi-final on penalties earlier in the season.

Maxwell admitted: “That defeat still rankles because it was a chance for us to win silverware.”

Rabs have been drawn at home to Clydebank or Whitletts Victoria in the West of Scotland Cup third round and away to Lesmahagow in the Central League Cup first round.
