THEY’RE riding high in the league and last night (Monday) Kirkintilloch Rob Roy steamrollered over the top of Carluke Roverts.

The Rabs won 3-1 in an away friendly on Monday night.

They scored two in the first half, with Carluke also nabbing a goal.

However, a professional second half saw them score again without conceding.

That is pleasing, but Rob Roy gaffer Jimmy Lindsay is facing a second weekend without a competitive league game.

Rabs have been on a high of late – winning four league games on the trot and rising to second in the table.

But they had no game at the weekend, while this Saturday’s prospective league game has been put on hold while opponents Irvine Meadow take on Queen’s Park in the Scottish Cup.

Lindsay told the Herald: “I’ve been checking to see what other teams don’t have a competitive game this weekend and hopefully we’ll be able to sort out a friendly to keep the players match-fit.

“The weekend after we’ll be back to league business and will hopefully be able to continue where we left off.”
