Vale originally played there after entering into a groundsharing arrangement with Petershill FC on joining the junior ranks in 2011.

But after six years they quit the venue in 2017 to move closer to their Bishopbriggs base by playing home games at Huntershill.

However on gaining promotion in 2019 Vale decided to move again because the complex wasn't deemed suitable to host top flight football.

With a move back to Petershill not an option Rossvale then moved south of the river to share Benburb’s New Tinto Park in Govan, firstly for their Premiership campaign in 2019-20 and then for last season’s inaugural West of Scotland League campaign following the consolidation of the juniors into the pyramid.

At the time club chairman Dom McInally said it was hoped the switch southside would be a temporary one and now they are set to end that exile by moving back to Petershill for the new season, which starts on July 17.

A club statement posted on Twitter revealed: “After a two-year absence from the north of Glasgow we will be returning after agreement with [site operators] Partick Thistle Charitable Trust and will play our home fixtures next season, 2021/22, at Petershill Park Sports Complex in Springburn.

"As previously stated the club would like to thank Benburb FC for the use of their tremendous facility during this time."
