Time out for City girls as they face international call

GLASGOW City first-team girls have been given time off from winning the league to appear for international duty.

Ten first-team players have been given the call by their respective countries – with seven being called by Scotland alone. The Scotland squad will consist of Docherty, Corsie, Mulvey, Crichton, Lappin and Ross.

Added to this, strikers Denise O’Sullivan and Ruesha Littlejohn have also received call-ups from Sue Ronan’s Republic of Ireland squad to face Slovakia and Croatia, while new-signing, Jess Fishlock, will travel back to Wales to captain the side against Belarus.

For the youth internationals, youngsters Amy Anderson and Carla Boyce were selected for Scotland’;s under 17 squad for the second qualification round of the European Championships in Hungary to go up against Hungary, Norway and Finland.

This international break means that City will have to face an away game to Hibernian on Sunday, September 29. KO 2pm.
