Tom Lang won't play again for Clyde as knee injury ends his season

Lang, who has signed a pre-contract to join Raith Rovers in the summer, picked up the knock in last month's home defeat by Dumbarton.

It's not a major concern, but it will require keyhole surgery to tidy up cartilage damage, ruling the 23-year-old defender out of the Bully Wee's remaining fixtures.

There may only be one game left. If Clyde achieve a better result against East Fife on Thursday than Dumbarton manage against Peterhead on Tuesday they are sure of staying up. If not it's the play-offs.

Lang admits he is gutted to miss out, but is focussed on making sure he is ready for the next chapter of his career at Kirkcaldy.

Lang's current spell at Broadwood is his third with the Bully Wee, including a stint on loan from Dunfermline, and he was Danny Lennon's first signing after he took over as Clyde boss.

He said: "I've always had a great time at Clyde and have missed the fans massively this year.

"It's such a shame we've not been able to enjoy our football together at all, but I'm looking forward to coming back as a fan and seeing everyone again."

Lennon said: "Tom would go through a brick wall for you, he's that type of character and he's gutted he can't be out there with the boys.

"But he's got to make sure he gets himself right and ready for his new adventure. He's been absolutely fantastic and a pleasure to work with."
