‘We need to be better’, admits Clyde boss

The Broadwood manager says his side will need to improve drastically all over the park to be competitive as the games continue to come thick and fast.

He said: “We can’t just think if we work a bit harder then things will change. In every department we need to be better, we were poor everywhere and in all aspects on Saturday. First thing we’ll have to look at is that we didn’t compete with them.

“Two early goals gave them the confidence to go on and play very well - that made it extremely difficult for us. We could have no complaints about the score.”

Clyde were due to play Queen’s Park again last night, this time at Broadwood, as both sides continue to work through the fixture backlog.

Duffy said: “Both Brown and Park picked up muscle injuries at the weekend and we’re obviously still without Alan Lithgow, so that’s another two defenders we’re down. We’re a bit stretched for cover there now.

“The motivation factor shouldn’t be a problem playing them again but the simple fact is we need to perform a lot better. They’re on a phenomenal run just now and our pitch will suit them, it’s in better condition than Hampden and they like to play expansive football.”

This Saturday sees East Stirling visit Broadwood for a bottom of the table clash.

Duffy added: “I don’t have a view to target any team in particular. As I’ve said before, everyone’s above us so it doesn’t make much difference who we play.

“All I came in looking to do was to improve things for the club.

“The game isn’t more important because they’re right above us, all I’m trying to do is get as many points on the board as we can.”
