West Park United donate half fundraiser proceeds to Glasgow NE Foodbank

Members of Bishopbriggs community football club West Park United have handed over a £780 donation to a foodbank to help kick off their 40th birthday celebrations.

The club has had to put some of this year’s celebrations on hold due to the coronavirus lockdown.

But they did manager to organised a recent keepie up challenge which not only helped keep up spirits but helped race precious funds for the Glasgow NE Foodbank.

The club were overwhelmed with the response to their initiative, which involved participants doing 20 keepie-ups each, with 180 videos posted to its Facebook account from players, coaches and parents across all age group teams, both boys and girls.

Even West Park former player and ex-professional Kevin Harper joined in by posting a video and helping the club raise £1,560 raised, to be split equally between the club and the foodbank, who were delighted to receive a socially distance-observed visit from the club to mark the handing over of their contribution.
