Winter weather hits junior football fixtures

LOCAL junior football fixtures were once again hit by the wintry weather on at the weekend.

Both Kilsyth Rangers and Cumbernauld United were sheduled to head north for Scottish Cup ties on Saturday.

Rangers’ scheduled Scottish Cup fourth-round tie at Kinnoull was unfortunately postponed due to a frozen pitch. The game is now due to take place this coming week.

Cumbernauld United’s Scottish Cup fourth-round game against Kelty was also hit by the weather.

This match will now go ahead this Saturday, weather permitting.

The Cumbernauld United Original Supporters Club bus for this game will leave Cumbernauld town centre norht side bus stop at 11.25 a.m. and Guy’s Meadow at 11.35 a.m.

Very few junior games actually did go ahead, but a few did survive the freeze-up including the Largs v Ardrossan league match with Largs winning 3-2 to regain leadership of the Super League First Division.
