Skilful midfielder Jemma (13), of Burnbank Steadings, Birkhill Road, will play matches against Benfica Academy team today (Wednesday) and again on Friday.
“I am extremely proud that Jemma has been picked for this academy for the second consecutive year,” said her dad Craig.
“She has been chosen thanks to impressing selectors through her efforts at Braidhurst High School’s Elite Soccer School.
“The SFA has set up six or seven of these centres throughout Scotland and Jemma is the only girl on any of them. It is all boys apart from her.
“Jemma has worked very hard to get to such a high level of playing ability.
“She owes a lot to the coaching of Kenny Neill, who has taught her so many good things at Milton Rovers since she was just six. She wouldn’t be where she is now if he hadn’t pushed her.”
