Forth cup tie postponed for sixth time

ALTHOUGH Forth Wanderers players and officials have now been frustrated by SIX postponements of their home Emirates Cup third round replay against Maryhill, there is one silver lining.

Wanderers secretary Jim Kelly explained that normally ties are switched to the opposition's ground following three call-offs.

But on this occasion, as all the junior teams are being affected by call-offs due to the freezing weather, that policy is being abandoned.

"This rule is the only saving grace for us," Jim said. "No teams like coming to the Forth. They arrive here and ask: 'What the hell are we doing here'?"
