Four titles for Callum

CARLUKE kickboxing marvel Callum Kennedy (13), of Honeybank Crescent, has already won four world titles in the demanding martial art!

Callum’s latest triumph came when he won under-17 light contact gold medal for Scotland after beating three under-55kg opponents at the WKA World Championships in Universal Studios, Orlando, Florida.

“Callum phoned me after winning the title and he was absolutely over the moon with his success,” his dad Stephen told Gazette Sport.

“I am so delighted and happy for him; his success makes me very proud. We had a celebratory party with family and friends when he came back to Scotland.”

After wins over American and German opponents in his first two Florida bouts, Clyde Valley High School pupil Callum defeated American Marlon Brugge to land the gold medal.

“I think Callum was one of the youngest competitors in the event,” Stephen added.
