Giffnock Tennis Club makes Scottish Cup history.

Giffnock Tennis Club’s ladies and gents are through to the Scottish Cup semi-finals. Both teams play host this Saturday, starting at 1pm. Ladies play David Lloyd Aberdeen and gents take on West of Scotland rivals Thorn Park. Spectators welcome.

Steph Norris, Ladies 1st team captain and head coach, said: “For Giffnock ladies to make a Scottish Cup semi-final for the first time in more than 30 years is a tremendous achievement and we are very grateful for the support we’ve received from members. We’re looking forward to our match this Saturday and hope both men’s and ladies teams can make it through to what would be a historic Scottish Cup final for the Club.”

Owen Hadden, Gents 1st Team Captain, said: “We expect a tough game against Thorn Park and can only hope the home tie and support provides us with an advantage.”

Club president Richard Cook said: “We look forward to hosting David Lloyd Aberdeen ladies and Thorn Park men’s teams this Saturday and welcome spectators, whether they have an affiliation to any of the club’s on display or none.”
