Girdwood family win Scottish half Ironman title
ROSEBANK triathlon ace Shona Girdwood teamed up with her husband Jim and brother Craig to finish as first mixed team at the gruelling Scottish Half Ironman in Aberfeldy.
Shona (42), completed a 90km bike ride in 2hrs 50mins, with 39-year-old Craig doing a 1900m swim in 23mins and Jim (42) running a 13-mile half marathon in 1hr 20mins. The trio were also fourth overall in an event contested by over 30 teams.
“We all really enjoyed ourselves and I felt absolutely brilliant on the bike,” Shona said.
