Allander Rotary invites golfers to get into swing of a charity challenge

Local golfers are invited to tee off in teams of three and help raise funds for two well deserved charities.

Allander Rotary at Milngavie, supported by Kirkintilloch and Bishopbriggs Rotarians, have organised the Charity Golf Challenge 2020 in aid of East Dunbartonshire Foodbank and East Dunbartonshire Women’s Aid.

A Rotary spokesperson said: “Due to Covid-19 all of our major fund raising for 2020 has had to be cancelled so we are looking for alternative ways of raising money for charity.

“For this event we are looking to support two organisations that require additional support.

“This event allows you to play any course at any time until Sunday, September 16, and then email your scorecard to us by September 19 at latest, ideally within three days of the round.”

Teams of three can take part and the entry cost is £5 per person – £15 per team. Prizes for the top four teams and the golf scoring format is Stableford.

To enter, email allanderro [email protected] with your team name, the course you will be playing, date you plan to play ± 3 days, names and handicaps of team members, their club and a contact phone number.

The Rotary spokesperson added: “Please help us make this event a great success by passing on this information to as many golfers as possible in your own club, friends, family, business contacts and colleagues.

Competitors must be a member of a golf club and have a current CONGU handicap.
