Consistent Colin claims golfing trophy at Kilsyth

COLIN Bankier has claimed the Thornycroft Trophy at Kilsyth Lennox Golf Club.

The midweek competitions got underway on Wednesday, May 2, with the May Eclectic round one, Joseph Nellis being the early front runner with a net 70.

On Saturday, May 6, conditions were ideal for the May Medal, and in-form Alan J. Brown had the best scratch score with 71. First class handicap medal was won by Stephen Whyte scoring a net 67; the second class winner was Gordon Etherington on 67 and third class was decided on a countback, with Ian S. Swan nudging out Hugh Campbell for the medal,
