Excellent scores at Kilsyth Lennox Golf Club despite weather

Kilsyth Lennox GC, Wednesday, May 7: and persistent rain throughout the day hampered the field entering the first midweek stroke play of the summer period as the May Eclectic got underway. Considering the damp playing conditions there were some excellent scores and congratulations to Alan Bankier who took first place on a count back from Peter Griffen and Steven when they posted nett 69. Three players also shared best scratch - Hugh Nelson, Peter Griffen and Steven Walker, with one over par 72.

The poor weather continued throughout the week and the Yellow Ball competition for Saturday, May 10 was cancelled due to heavy overnight rain.

The Thomson McCrone team were held at home by the league leaders Milngavie on Sunday, May 11 and the draw now makes it difficult for them to qualify for the knockout stages with the next match being away to Renfrew.
