He maintained his form to win the six round handicap prize and, with a score of 66, he gave himself the opportunity to win two in the bounce as he is joint leader with Alan Buchanan in the first round of the J B Smith Memorial played on Saturday, September 14.
Also finishing on a high is Peter Griffin when he won the first class medal for September with a season best 67. Stephen Morrison claimed second class with 66 and John Ritchie with 70 came top in the third class category.
