The Scots successfully defended their crown with an emphatic 5-2 victory over Sweden in the final at Golf de Chantilly in France.

Scotland defeated Spain by 5.5 to 1.5 in their quarter-final match and then beat Italy 5-2 in the semi-final, although Jamie was beaten 7 and 6 by Guido Migliozzi.

Scotland then secured the trophy - their eighth European title in total - with that success over Sweden.

As well as Jamie the squad comprised SGrant Forrest (Craigielaw), Craig Howie (Peebles), Bob MacIntyre (Glencruitten), Sandy Scott (Nairn) and Connor Syme (Drumoig).

Scotland last won consecutive titles in 1975 and 1977 when the championship was played every two years.
