They’ll first have to get over the last hurdle of the regional finals at Pollok golf club next month.

Stuart Reekie, East Renfrewshire gold club pro, will play with amateur team mate Colin Graham to advance to the final of the prestigious Lombard Trophy, as will Williamwood PGA professional Stewart Marshall with his amateur partner Alex Forsyth.

Both teams will compete against up to 70 other clubs for the chance to secure one of 16 prized spots available for the 36-hole grand final, with a prize pot of £80,000.

Ian Isaac, head of sales at Lombard, said: “This year’s Lombard Trophy promises to be another exciting competition.”

The PGA National Pro-Am Championship has a total prize fund of £80,000.

The winning professional at the grand final will take home a cheque for £12,000.
