Hard work will pay off

THE Bully Wee host Stirling Albion on Saturday hoping the Forthbank Stadium side's away form is due to take a drastic dip.

The Binos have won seven of the nine away games they have played so far this season, including a one-nil victory at Broadwood last August.

However Clyde showed they are more than capable of matching the promotion-chasers in October when it took an 88th minute equaliser to earn Albion a point in front of their own fans.

Broadwood boss John McCormack thinks this weekend's opposition are of a standard his young squad must aspire to.

He said: "Stirling Albion have shown what a good team they are throughout the season. They've shown a mental strength and have been very consistent so in a way they're an example of what we need to do if we are to climb this league table.

"Throughout the season they've been flying high at the top of the league and are still there. We know they've got good players but I know my lads can match them if we can keep our focus throughout the game."

Cowboy says he's pleased with the attitude shown by much of his squad who are coming in for extra weekly sessions.

"The players are up for it and are ready to work hard – that shows in the number that are turning up voluntarily for the extra training we are running in addition to our regular Tuesday and Thursday sessions.

"We've made it optional but 12 of the squad have been coming in because their circumstances allow them. We've been using the time to focus mostly on ball work and skill. That hard work will pay off in the long run and hopefully help us to start picking up the points we need."
