Kilsyth Lennox golfer Thomas takes title

KILSYTH Lennox golfer Thomas Morrison won the County Stroke Play Championship with a two round total of 137 - five under par.

He made the most of home advantage as Kilsyth were hosting the best in the county competition on Saturday, August 13, with 90 players teeing off for the prestigious title.

Thomas showed no nerves throughout the day and won by seven shots for a fabulous victory.

The top 16 players from the stroke play event will now compete for the County Matchplay on Saturday, August 20, at Kilsyth.

Our Thomson McCrone team lost in the semi-final of the league playoffs at Dougalston on Sunday, August 14. Howver, this season, they have won the Forrest Trophy, making it a successful one for the team.

A notice for members and visitors - the tee will be closed this Saturday and Sunday (early morning both days) as the County Matchplay Championship Finals will take precedence.
